Brad Arnold From 3 Doors Down Has Passed

Bradley Kirk Arnold (September 27, 1978 – February 7, 2026) was an American musician best known as the lead singer, founding member, and original drummer of the rock band 3 Doors Down. Born and raised in Escatawpa, Mississippi, he helped form the band in the mid‑1990s and was a central creative force throughout their career. Arnold wrote the band’s breakout hit “Kryptonite” while still in high school, a song that would become emblematic of the group’s success in mainstream rock.

Under his leadership, 3 Doors Down became a staple of post‑grunge and alternative rock in the early 2000s, with radio hits like “Here Without You,” “When I’m Gone,” and “It’s Not My Time.”

In May 2025, Arnold publicly revealed that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma (a form of kidney cancer) that had spread to his lungs. He shared the news with fans through a heartfelt video message and announced that the band’s 2025 tour would be canceled so he could focus on treatment.

On February 7, 2026, Brad Arnold died at the age of 47. According to official statements from 3 Doors Down, he passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his wife Jennifer and family, after a courageous battle with cancer. His death was widely reported in music and news outlets worldwide.
